Licensing options
PrecisionPhage offers flexible licensing models to fit the needs of industry, academics, and healthcare.
Non-exclusive License
Access phages from our established library on non-exclusive terms. These phages are already characterized and available for use by multiple partners. Ideal for compassionate use cases and research and development work when speed and availability matter most.
Exclusive License
Secure exclusive rights to a specific phage from our library. This grants your company dedicated access to the selected phage, allowing integration into your commercial or research pipelines with confidence that it will not be licensed to other parties within the agreed scope.
Exclusive License of an Unpublished Phage
For projects that demand novelty and confidentiality, we can provide phages that have not been previously published or shared. These phages can be exclusively licensed, giving your organization a unique foundation for innovation and intellectual property strategies.

Phage Licensing Process
Our licensing options are detailed and structured, spanning from simple arrangements for compassionate use or research to structured approaches designed to ensure shared understanding and alignment.

Agreement
How comprehensive is the licensing agreement? The scope of the agreement is determined on a case-by-case basis, ensuring both parties have a clear understanding of the utilization of the licensed phages. The process can be straightforward and pragmatic, but we are also prepared to address specific details if the licensee requires.
For private companies, we fully recognize the importance of anticipating specific scenarios and adopting a comprehensive approach, and we are more than willing to accommodate such needs.

FAQs
Majority of our clients consists of commercial entities, making it essential for us to offer exclusive licensing agreements. An exclusive agreement ensures that once a phage is licensed under such terms, it will not be made available to any other entity. Due to the existence of these agreements, not all phages in our collection are open for licensing.
Our phages have been genomically characterised (except the most recent additions to our collection), covering information such as absence of virulence and antibiotic resistance genes, lytic probability, predicted hosts, taxonomy etc.
For licensed phages, we provide annotated whole genome sequence, titer, plaque morphology and for certain phages and depending on the agreement, data such as detailed host range profiles based on testing against our internal collection of bacterial strains.
We understand that making an informed decision before licensing a phage is crucial. To support this process, we have laboratory facilities where we can conduct a range of supportive and R&D activities. If additional data is required—such as host range, efficacy, stability, or a more detailed genomic analysis—we can perform the necessary tests to provide a clearer understanding of the phage's properties.
