About Us

Born Out of Need
PrecisionPhage was founded from a clear need: to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world impact in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Our journey began with the development of bioinformatics tools designed to support bacteriophage research. Through this work, we recognized that the private sector offered the agility and scalability needed to translate scientific innovation into practical solutions faster and more effectively.
What started as research-driven innovation has grown into a dedicated effort to create computational and laboratory solutions that help unlock the full potential of phages, shaping a future where precision biology becomes part of everyday healthcare and industry.

What Are Phages?
Bacteriophages — or phages — are viruses that infect and kill bacteria. They’re the most abundant biological entities on Earth, shaping how microbes evolve and offering powerful tools for science, medicine, and biotechnology.

Our Values
Innovativeness
As a company we are committed to fostering a culture of exploration, eagerness and continuous learning.
Integrity
Coming from an academic background, we are driven by rigorous academic standards in everything that we do.
Collaboration
We recognise combating antimicrobial resistance as a global challenge. To overcome superbugs, we aspire to work together with industry, academics, healthcare, and applied fields.
Compassion
While we find phages fascinating as they are, what ultimately drives us is the benefit for humanity and the individuals within.
Solving global problems out of Finland
PrecisionPhage is a Finland-based biotech founded in 2022. Our company was established on a foundation of extensive academic research at two Finnish universities, inspired by the pressing need for new antimicrobial resistance solutions and the opportunities offered by the private sector.
We combine practical experience in phage therapy, deep virological expertise, excellence in bioinformatics and computational development, and solid business know-how to deliver innovative solutions from Finland to the global stage.
